Dudes, we're serious. Check out the stats.

So, just to explain a little. The researchers completed an online survey of, like, 1,500 Internet-using adolescents between grades 4 to 8 and discovered that a whopping 34.4% had been bullied online. Wow...no, not World of Warcraft 'WOW'. Think about it, that means one in three people surveyed had been cyberbullied.
Yep, Houston, we have a problem.

And that's not all.

abcNews (think: the television station that shows Grey's Anatomy, Lost, and Desperate Housewives) produced a survey done by www.I-Safe.org

The Data was based on the same survery as mentioned above.

The results were as followed:

  • 42 percent of kids have been bullied while online. One in four have had it happen more than once
  • 35 percent of kids have been threatened online. Nearly one in five had had it happen more than once.
  • 21 percent of kids have received mean or threatening e-mails or other messages.
  • 58 percent of kids admit someone has said mean or hurtful things to them online. More than four out of ten say it has happened more than once.
  • 58 percent have not told their parents or an adult about something mean or hurtful that happened to them online.
See, I told you we were serious.
